Memories from the past come to life in stories of humor, love, and nostalgia.
A suitcase full of memories transforms into theatre, emotion, and hope.
Upon leaving the Soviet Union for the United States, the protagonist takes only a small suitcase. Years later, he opens it and finds objects that have become reminders of the past. Each of them comes to life in a story – funny, sad, and moving. These are stories about people, events, and feelings that once filled his life. Through them, a mosaic of the Soviet era unfolds before us, familiar and dear to all.
The gentle sadness of memories, ironic observations, and subtle metaphors of Dovlatov come alive thanks to a star-studded cast. Alexei Kortnev, Alexei Agranovich, Semyon Treskunov, Valentin Samokhin, and Nina Shkara fill the stories with sincerity and warmth. The music created for the performance establishes an incredible atmosphere where laughter coexists with nostalgia, and simple stories transform into timeless themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery.
This performance is about how to fit an entire life into a suitcase and keep the warmth of memories while far from home. It is also about the fact that, even in the hardest moments, we always have something that makes us stronger - memory, love, and hope.
