4ª Edição ESTORIL FOLK FEST

THE FOLK DA LINHA FESTIVAL RETURNS IN 2026 WITH AN EDITION DEDICATED TO POLYPHONIC SINGING.

The festival opens with a symposium on the Arouca region — “Arouca a Botar Cantas”.

Arouca, its convent, and the story of the legendary figure of Queen Saint Mafalda.

Vitorino headlines the programme with “Moda Impura”, a concert celebrating his 50-year career, accompanied by Cantadores do Redondo.

Moçoilas also welcome guest Ana Laíns, joined by Paulo Loureiro and José Salgueiro, on a musical journey through southern Portugal.

Vozes da Terra bring the whole of Arouca to life through their voices and the Cantas that define the region’s tradition of female polyphonic singing.

In the Foyer, the opening symposium takes us through the history of the Arouca Convent, Queen Saint Mafalda, and Arouca’s traditional Cantas.

The second “Armando Carvalheda” Award will also be presented. Vitorino is this year’s recipient — fittingly so, as one of the great ambassadors of the land where life is lived at a slower pace.
