Paris, 1881. In the bohemian heart of Montmartre, a new world of luxury and perdition is born: Le Chat Rouge, a cabaret promising spectacle and scandal. Nicolas Bastien, writer and keen observer of life, immerses himself in this universe where the glittering lights hide deep shadows.

The establishment, run by Henry, a businessman driven by a thirst for money and power, attracts men of all classes, enchanted by the allure of the dancers and the sensation of unattainable freedom.

Promises of pleasure and whispers of betrayal lead respectable men to lose themselves in the darkness, while dreamy women face the dilemma between submission and liberation.
