Flamenco Gala

From the Marquis of Flamenco to the Queen of Fado.

Porrina de Badajoz, the stage name of José Salazar Molina, was one of the most iconic flamenco singers of the 20th century.

A member of a gypsy family, he gained recognition for his unmistakable timbre and unique interpretation of genres such as fandangos, seguiriyas, and soleás.  In addition to his recognition in the flamenco world, Porrina kept a strong and productive friendship and professional collaboration with Amália Rodrigues. They shared influences between flamenco and fado, and strengthened the cultural ties between Spain and Portugal.
To celebrate the centenary of his birth, a special grand show will bring together 13 flamenco artists and a fado singer, where dance, vocals and guitar will come together in a moving tribute to Porrina de Badajoz, Marquis of Flamenco and Amália Rodrigues, Queen of Fado.
